Leased on? Yeah, sure.

When you question a  double broker about the truck that showed up at the shippers dock, you  may hear things like, “this carrier is leased onto our authority”, or,  “that is our sister company”.
This is what one of ours heard when they questioned MC 1430411.
The  concerns started with the carrier setup packet. Everything was there,  minus anything in the description of operations section on their COI. A  new COI was requested, and came back with 1 vin listed. That was not the  vin that arrived to pick up the load.
Please remember, that double  brokers are not honest, and they will make every effort to convince you  that they are honest. So if a truck on your dock, is not insured under a  particular MCs authority, its time to make some phone calls. I would  start by calling the office of the real carrier sitting at the shipper.  And dont use that carrier without setting them up first.
